Starting today: The Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival

This is a free and excellent Festival. Take BART, then SF Muni to Golden Gate Park. For Muni, I suggest the 5 Fulton or the 31 Balboa bus. Get off on 25th to 30th Ave and walk into the Park. Get there early! ~ Enjoy!

I agree. An incredible Festival in an incredible setting and it's freakin FREE. My wife and I stumbled on it on our honeymoon ( or maybe it was the trip before ). We just left our Hotel for a walk and like usual just walked the city. Ended up all the way to the haight and the park. Didn't even know it was going on. Pretty damn cool. Next time we go back I hope to plan the trip around this.

ok, beware if you're going to this. not only is hardly strictly going on this weekend...the blue angels are in town, it's fleet week, the giants have a playoff game, the 49ers are playing, the columbus day parade is going down market street and there is also the castro street fair. just another weekend in the city.

i'll be there at some point but it's going to be an interesting weekend in town. they expect more visitors to SF than there are residents.

One of the reasons I decided NOT to go up. Traffic, parking, crowds and more crowds. Great fest but I'm going to stay in my small town...
